During her wine training she realized that not all vineyards are treated equally and definitely not all wine is created equally. With her background in environmental engineering, she started shaping the Why for Grapekeeper.
“Some families are passionate about sustainability and their job is more than making wine. They introduce biodiversity into their farms, because they are aware that they are keepers of the land, its culture and their local communities. So I wanted to create something that would allow putting a spotlight onto these companies whilst bringing consumers into the world of wine making. Making them a part of the process, allowing them access. What if normal people could ‘own’ a sustainable vineyard? They could have access to an extraordinary world, one that cares more about its own things, and they would financially support the farmers that are doing it the right way.” – Ana Monforte
And so, whilst drinking a beautiful bottle of Barolo, overlooking the Piemontese valleys and hills of Nebbiolo, Grapekeeper was born.
