Frequently Asked Questions
1. How long does it take for my wine to be ready?
That depends very much per vineyard. A wine that does no undergo wood or bottle ageing before being ready ( Champagne or Piemonte for example), is ready around the spring after the harvest, typically the next April or May. For the other wines it can differ widely, from 18 months after harvest, to 2-3 years. This information is specified per vineyard under the wine description.
2. What if the crop fails?
We tried our best to make this the fairest possible to all parts involved. So we caped wins and losses at 20%. What does this means? If there is a problem with the crop you can receive up to 20% less expected bottles, and the opposite as well, if it is an exceptional year you can receive up to 20% more bottles.
3. What if the crop fails more than 20%?
For the remaining 80% of the production you get offered this amount of wine from either a neighboring vineyard (same estate and farmer, same conditions), or these amount of bottles from same vineyard but previous vintage ( if available), or we and the farmer refund you 80% of your money back.
4. Do I own the vineyard?
No. This is an experience, experience what it would feel with the burden, and the hassle of managing the all process, Be Sting without the sting! You adopt the vineyard, what you own is the production of that vineyard for that season.
5. Is this for one season just or can I buy for more?
Typically for one season, meaning, from the moment you buy you get to enjoy the access and the experience, up to the harvest time, that occurs typically mid-end September. But you want to go steady on one or more of the vineyards, please do contact us on [email protected] , we discuss with you your wishes and make and adequate offer.
6. What is the price per bottle?
Prices per bottle vary per vineyard and how big the vineyard that you adopt is, but also vary accordingly with the yield of that specific year. If in a specific season the vineyard produced a higher yield prices per bottle are lower, and the contrary as well, if the vineyard produces less prices per bottle are higher. Also the more square meters you adopt the lower the price per bottle, this is because not only transport logistics are less significant but we also introduce increasing discounts the bigger the plot. Send us an email to [email protected] and we will send you and the prices per plot sizes, plus estimated amount of bottles and their prices.
